Talk About Art and Our Environment looks at selected artists and the impact they have had on environmental issues. Run over nine sessions the project looks at an individual artist and then participants produce a piece of work inspired by that artist. In the final three sessions, participants select a local issue they feel strongly about and then create a group piece to bring it to public attention.
Each of the blogs below follow the journey of one school as they discover how art can change the world!
“There was much jumping up and down and squeals at Ben Von Wong’s work and at the work the kids produced. About their own work they said;
‘I used sellotape so it looks like my clownfish fish is stuck in plastic’
‘In my picture the fish are sad because they can’t go anywhere because of so much plastic’
‘I drew bottles and plastic bags and used string to show the rubbish where the fish are living’
‘The jellyfish are layered with plastic bags in my picture just like in the sea'”
